Frequently Asked Questions
How is "actions needed" calculated?
actions needed = ceil(XP still needed / XP per action). XP still needed comes from the same XP-table formula used on the XP Calculator: the target level's total XP requirement, minus your current XP. Rounding up means the last action you need is counted even if it pushes you slightly past the target level.
Are the preset action XP values exact and current?
They're a small, typed-from-memory convenience list of common training actions per skill, clearly approximate. Per-action XP for gathering skills has stayed stable for a long time, but this list isn't pulled from a live source -- if you're planning something that matters, confirm the exact current XP value in-game first.
Why only four skills?
This calculator covers a small preset list across Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining and Firemaking to keep the data set honest and typed-in rather than scraped from a database. The underlying math (XP needed / XP per action) works for any OSRS skill -- for one not listed here, use the XP Calculator to get the XP gap, then divide by that skill's per-action XP yourself.
